I'd have to see it online, where's the ventilation, on the hidden sides? You could add it yourself, and put an eave or some weather protection over it. You'd want the run to have some better cover against rain from the sides, but you're in a warm climate and you can add that when needed maybe. This is a sleeping coop only, right?
I’ll have to get pictures of where they are living right now. It’s pretty sad. I got Pastel and Splotch when there wasn’t any work done on my coop, besides a little area we were working on for my guineas after six of them died to raccoons. My dad didn’t know about the chicks until after I put the eggs into the incubator we bought that day. They hatched, and they went into a brooder (one of those big metal flower beds or horse waterer… one of those) we put hardware cloth around the lower sides of what was already there. Actually, instead of me typing out the rest, I’ll get a video of it if I can remember.

I don’t think you need to worry about capacity in the traditional sense, unless you plan on locking them up in there for days. There are people that do that, and thus the square foot requirements to avoid stress. If you offer them enough secure room in other ways then they’ll be fine.

You’re in southern Georgia so you won’t have a blizzard snow you in for a week. I think in terms of square footage your concern will be making enough secure shady room elsewhere in summer so they can be cool and not crowded together during the day, and making sure at night that they have enough ventilation in that coop for good air circulation, if it can’t ventilate well the air will be too warm and moist.
Yeah, I don’t really plan to lock them in there for days. I really just want dry chooks. Their coop is really wet. There’s no dry spots. But yeah, also the stuff you said.

I usually try to add a tax to everything I write if I have some great photos.

And of course you just know there will be a lot of weather whining tax neo that snow and cold is here.

-4C freezing rain and snow on tap for today, I just bet the chooks will be staying in today.

The snow must be cold on their feet

Love the one tail feather hahaha and love that sign where did you find that? 😊💕
It’s a very inexpensive plastic placemat, found in Walmart or someplace many years ago. At the time I got two of them for baking prep (portable dough risers). The back has information about each relative pictured, but the pullets have to familiarize themselves with their images first, and they can’t read yet.

I think so, I'll need to wash it off with salt but it's not possible to reach
Could also be a bug made something to winter over in. Also looks like wasp tunnels!
