I'm so ashamed at eating that crap, I had my thanks giving dinner today lovely nutrients with all the vegetables. Than i go and eat junk
I am a complete chocoholic and I could totally eat a big chunk right now!

The vet here did give Peanut a liquid knock-out medicine by mouth first, but that just put her into some sort of sleep. It took a couple of minutes for her. She then used another med by a vein to actually euthanize her. We waited until Peanut appeared to be truly unconscious and the vet said to not wait long after that because the sleep is not a normal sleep and if you wait it can feel distressing to them. :(
They usually give them a muscle relaxer before the euthanizing meds; as much for the people as for the pets. The muscle relaxer prevents the 'death tremors' that accompany the passing of the animals. Pretty much every animal does it - just varies how much - chickens have a lot of movement as they pass versus, say, a dog.

Edit to add: When our dog Bandit needed to be euthanized, that is what our Vet. did. He was given enough muscle relaxer that he was asleep from it. But, he was also very weak and sick - so I have no idea about the dosage, as I don't think it would have taken a lot to put him to sleep. Regardless, it is common practice here in this state for small animal vets to do that. Less traumatic for the pet owners/lovers.

Tomorrow, I will be doing touch and go landing practice with the SkyHawk. I believe that I can do a full landing on 800ft of runway. The manuals say 1000ft minimum but they don’t know my plane like I do. :old :thumbsup
The ol lady has it where it counts, behind the stick!
