Yay! Congrats on the baby!!!

Just ran out and checked on everyone. All inside the coop on this lovely autumn day. No fluffy butts, since pretty much everyone is molting and looking kinda rough.

When i checked last night Eenie and Uno were tucked up together in a nest box. I figured we'd traumatized them enough moving them in to the big coop, so i left them alone. Ill start moving them to a roost if the keep it up.

Eenie looks no worse for the wear, though she looks just awful. She molts much more she'll be naked!

Uno, however, is turning into a beauty! I think she needs a new name. I was calling her Little Dove as a baby...but now I'm thinking Goldie. View attachment 3690741View attachment 3690742

I gave Eenie special mealworm treats on her little perch. Uno even pecked a few from my hand for the first time. It was hard for her, since Eenie is a bit of a crack-head.

Brr chilly here today it’s 4C, but it’s sunny at least. Poor Sophia came out but she sure is shivering.

I think Sharpie is starting to moult also now. She was hanging out under the sweeter heater earlier - smart bird!

First Egg

And we have another first egg! From Cash, it’s an odd colour one I would describe as olive. EDIT - the egg is Babe’s

Here it is next to one of the Azures, and Misty’s blue green egg.

I am not far off saying those Hoover chicks would lay before those school chicks!

Egg update!

Have chick #1

Or maybe it could just be drying off that way, so it looks rumpled.

Egg / chick update

There are two! And yes the one will be a frizzle. It seems to be the seeker of the two, even though it was born first. Will keep an eye on her.

Both only have 4 toes so no silkie toes, I think they both have leg feathers but not for sure, but I didn’t want to keep them from mama too long it’s cold here.

And both are white! So I am glad the one is frizzle so I can tell them apart haha!

I love this bird but she is a bit of a menace. She is built like a tank and hasn’t understood that I need somewhere to put my feet if I am to progress forward. She just stands in front of me and won’t budge.

It's the Feather Babies Thanksgiving Breakfast!
They are having turkey, ham, peas, squash, cantaloupe, blueberries and a sliver of apple.
We don't tell them they are eating one of their mamas seconds cousin nephew so shhh
