The 2 days inside were very peaceful. I was very proud of them for staying inside. It was the smart thing to do.

Yesterday they were back out and they seemed miserable. I don't understand why they had to be out.
Here is what they look like out. Which group seems happier?

Out

I'm Seeing Spots. Lots More Spots.

I was wrong a few weeks ago when I said I thought Lady Featherington was done molting. Only her neck had molted. About 2 weeks ago she started dropping feathers everywhere below her neck. Check out what she looked like.

She already has feathers coming out and check out all the white! It looks like she is going to be "superspotted" after this molt!

I am so excited to see what her new feathers bring her. I'm glad they are coming in fast as it was only 20°F (-6.7°C) this morning.

Thanks for the spoiler alert - it allowed me to prepare myself.
She is going to be fabulous!!

Sherlock's chew toy of choice has become any decorative/twisty log in the flower beds, NOT any of the cut for firewood logs. Out of desperation, discovered he likes these...View attachment 3685594View attachment 3685595And he promptly decided to take it and run off....only to return a few seconds later with a request to toss it for him to chase. Note: they bounce all kinds of crazy directions.

Shopping list: my contributions to family dinner next week, more sweet potatoes, biggest carrots I can find, hardest apples and pears I can find. Price: cheaper than ANY commercially made dog chews, and they take him longer to go through.
There is a pet/farm store I go to occasionally that sells dried sweet potato chunks for dogs. My cats like them too, i had forgotten about them until now. Might have to make some for my crazy stick/fabric chewing cat.
