Oh ya, they eat everything, layer, starter, mealworms, fingers…. It’s a good thing they aren’t 6’ tall of they would be a real serious threat to us humans!!!Are the chicks filling up on pumpkin for all their meals? Not to put a damper on your camper, sorry, but are they getting enough high-protein nutrient-dense things to eat? 'Cause they aren't free-ranging with mom here (she would be sharing tiny bugs and things she finds).
YOU GOT SNOW TODAY? WOW.Snow pony - no this wasn’t today, but last March 2023.

Hope you get well soon. So does Gaby the Welsummer. (She is not a "Welwinter" for a reason).Evening all,
Very sick today. Just a lot of things at once. I even had to lie down after a migraine took out the vision in my right eye.
Hubby tended the birds for their lunch and afternoon water refill. He says that Shep tried to stand on his shoulder but his coat was too thick so she settled into being held. He's just so happy she's cuddly still, with the bonus of her being the softest! Kasumi also wanted to be petted, and even Ash let him stroke her chest!
This is what it looked like when I went to open the coop this morning, just beautiful.

Also hubby definitely said "we're getting more marans when it's time, because they are the softest, most cuddly birds I've ever met." Haha

"I have him wrapped around my little toe!"
You need to spend some time observing her in that case.I can't tell what her poop looks like. I'll have to bait her into doing it. I'm not sure if she's drinking water either, though she might have. My sister says her crop feels empty. I'll ask my sister if she laid today.
The most unusual thing is hearing that she wasn't interested in food earlier. She's usually first one up for food and the only one to eat it since she doesn't believe in sharing.
Past three days.YOU GOT SNOW TODAY? WOW.
ok ok, I hear you.
I knowPast three days.
But no that was last March.
@notabitail Also how does her abdomen feel - tight and full, or soft and squishy, easily pushed in without objection from her; does her vent look normal, her comb the right color, eyes normal, any discharge from her nares, & does her breathing seem normal?More info needed.
Poop type, crop full/empty, drinking water or not, laying eggs as usual…. Any other unusual things.
Sure hope she is ok![]()
She generally comes and drags all of them to my door in like a hour or so. I can definitely watch her them. And her poop. You need to spend some time observing her in that case.
Yep miserable and damp, my arthritis is aching, and had a migraine earlier. Can’t wait for April! And warm sunshine, soft breezes, mosquitoes….I know
I bet you'reloving ithating it right now, what with all the snow making it cold.
