Beautiful hensStill so very rainy. Here are the head hens getting first dibs at the morning mash. I’ve been mixing 20% & 18% protein feeds to get everyone past their molts. View attachment 3699749
Wattles of the day are a BFTP from this weekend. I can see that Fez (the cuckoo marans) still had red wattles in this photo, but between then and now has gone pale and started dropping fistfuls of feathers. She must be feeling low energy, because she has stopped harassing the pullets. View attachment 3699750I wonder when Becky will molt… I see a single pin feather in her neck. Maybe she’s taking it reeeeeally slowly. Plenty of pullet-pecking energy in her.
Good gosh! Lady F sure is moulting isn’t she?!Thirsty Thursday
I give you Hattie having finished her late night snack and drink. I just missed recording her drinking. Down off the roost, eat, drink, off to the nest box to finish her sleep.
Interestingly, everyone else was up grooming at this time, including Phyllis over in the Cluckle Hut.
Here's a more standard Thirsty photo from a few days ago.
