They are amazing, we all loved it. The photo of her and my son in the viewing portal is hilarious because a few seconds later she turned her head and saw the black and white Moray Eel about a quarter inch from her ear. Gave her a bit of a scare but then she was fascinated.
I love the red frogs!

I’m inside the coop watching them shuffling into their positions.

🎼 “It’s 4:39 on a Sunday, the regular crowd shuffles in. They’re all in the mood for a melody 🎶 but they sure won’t get one from me!”
I couldn’t carry a tune if it was sewn into my pocket! :old
As soon as I started reading that I was singing it in my mind hahahahahahahahaha 😆

Oh and BTW - thanks now I have that time in my head 🤨

Edit: TUNE not time - sheesh! Autocorrect

So... Robin, who is still new to laying eggs, laid her first two in the nestbox. (It's to the left, near the front of the coop; not visible in this picture.) Then there were a couple in the run. She dropped one off the roost at night. And now she likes this spot, way in back at the far end of the coop.

I put a nestbox in the far left corner, before she actually laid today, thinking she might like that. Nope.

I'm going to give her a couple days to decide the box is the better place. And then should I give in and move the box to her favorite spot there? She's laid 3 eggs there so far.

It's awkward to get to that spot, but I can lift out the roost/poop board. I even laid some boards on top of the shavings along that back wall to make it less enticing. :he

Frustrating!
Let me recommend one of these for fishing eggs out of awkward to reach places. I have one hanging in the Chicken Palace and it comes in very useful. Well, it does when they are laying!

I feel your frustration! Twister finally started laying in the nest box the other week when I was away. I tried everything to get her to lay there.

If I had know going away for a few days would do the trick I would have gone away before this 😁

I think she saw everyone else laying in the boxes and decided it was a good place. Give her a few more days, I like your idea of making it less appealing.

And, if you get and itch while doing chores you have the scratcher right handy! Dual purpose!
