Unfortunately elevated blood sugars come with being sick. I am also on steroids to keep it from settling into my lungs. Low dose only 4mg twice a day for 5 days. That will cause a slight increase but a necessary evil. If I took them like they are traditionally prescribed with a prednisone pack of 6 a day, then 5 and so on, that is a big no no. Found out the hard way 2 years into my type 1 diagnosis when I broke out head to toe with terrible poison ivy and the er doc gave me a steroid shot plus the prednisone pack. 2 days into it dealing with blood sugar in the 600 range and my normal doctor had a heart attack when he learned what the er doctor had done. Finally this evening got down to the 170 range, not perfect but heading into the right direction. The biggest concern with high blood sugar is I develop ketones in my urine which means I have went into DKA. I was worried yesterday, 4 times a stomach virus has sent me to the hospital for a few day stay in the ICU with DKA. I have actually felt almost good today and had some energy. Cleaned up the kitchen although I did not break any speed records and took lots of breaks. My energy has burnt out though so a long nap is coming my way.
I am glad your glucose is going down, I was a bit worried, and yes keep and eye for that keto-acidosis - gosh such worry, are you keeping a hard paper copy of your glucose levels? Just in case you do need to go to Emerg? Did you try the scrambled eggs?

Gosh I would have helped if I were close (mind you I had a friggin miserable day with my arthritis), this getting old sucks 😊🥰

@Desertvalleychickens I just love this photo. It kept pulling me back to look at it. I'm not sure what it is about it - the relative symmetry? the consistent earth tones in both the egg colors and the background? The simplicity yet beauty of it??? IDK - I just know I really, really am drawn to this picture. 🥰 🥰

I think it would make a GREAT🧩 jigsaw 🧩puzzle!!
Got to see the thread for a split second....
Thank you! That pic was just a bowl full of eggs with landscaping in the background. Thought it would be a really good photo, turns out it is!

I was able to find out who was laying another of the eggs, Ruth is laying a blue with a slight green tinge to it. Hers is the middle egg seen here.

But I am not sure who is laying the 2 brown eggs, the end one is a lovely dark colour, the second last one is a lovely terra-cotta brown colour. They are likely the last two of the Hoover chicks. As I know the eggs Ruth and Babe lay.
The pink eggs are from Butterscotch and Fluffy.
