Oh, okay. That’s kinda what I meant. My coop is large enough to stand in, but getting in and out is hard. I hope that you always have a free hand!My coop is tall enough for me to stand upright in the center. The doorway requires ducking to get in/out. It's also a bit of an awkward step. I put my hand on the lintel, and then I duck low enough. I have only banged my head when I don't put my hand there. So, to go into my coop safely, I need a free hand.
Very cold outside here today. Frost everywhere. My symptoms are not getting any better and I have no energy to do anything.
And the wind is going to pick up again soon with gusts up to 75mph!So cold! I long for summer now!
When I take things out to the coop, I make sure I do. It's an awkward step. Onto a cinder block, then up into the coop. (It's built on a trailer.) I have misstepped a few times, and was VERY glad I had a hold of something! One time I didn't, and could have twisted/broken an ankle. That was one of those, "Hey dummy! Pay attention and don't be in suce a hurry!" moments.I hope that you always have a free hand!

Very windy here.
The wind almost took the Little's coop down. We took the tarp off and it's ok but we stuck them into the top for their saftey as there is no roof.

I built my run in a hurry, with only the chooks in mind. I have to bend down to enter it too. The chooks seem to like the run and coop (as long as there’s food in it)Ouch! I’ve done that before. To get into the chicken run, you need to duck through the door because there is a wooden post at the top. I’ve forgotten to duck more than once (much to my embarrassment) and have hit my head and seen stars. Ohhh, fun times. I am much more careful and I haven’t hit my head in a good few months ( I don’t wanna jinx myself now…)
Edit: perhaps I should say that the wooden post at the top of the door is very low, and there is also a post sticking up from the ground at the bottom. You have to step up WHILE ducking to get into my darn run.
