Yum!

We ordered Mexican and I went and brought it home. About a 20 minute round-trip. I ordered a shrimp taco salad. I was really excited and very hungry.

I got home with a chicken burrito. I called, but it was 7 p.m. and another 20 minute round-trip was not worth it. The burrito was tasty...just disappointing.

I have to always do a moronic food check, before leaving the premises, when I (take out) for dinner

Yes, but then - ? Hasn't she been a good Queen after all that? Has she been mean or cruel? Petty? Unnecessarily peckish? Is she still battling down in the trenches - I thought not - hasn't she risen above that now? I see such a change in Hazel, she is so much more tolerant of the Spuds than I ever thought she would be. Even Popcorn, whom she regularly bosses around. But with the Spuds she gives lots of leeway and warnings before moving on them, and they do not fear her as much.

Aurora has also done a lot of good Royal Public Relations, answering many letters with the assistance of her Scribe, very thoroughly and thoughtfully. She has done a great job explaining and advising in The Way Of The Chicken, helping others understand their places and how best to manage within The Way. This is considerate of her subjects, and of chickens and their Queens everywhere.

(If you can set aside the argument that her teachings are helping to promulgate the subjugation of the masses, you could call it a great Public Service.)

They all had a good day. However...tonight I discovered poor Sheba on the floor instead of on the roost. I went to check her to make sure she was okay and saw her poor back. View attachment 3724097
At least Manny only de-feathered the wing spots. Randy - his new official name - is now offered to the first comer on Facebook. No more waiting. Sad...but I'm tired of my girls looking so beat.

Yes hose young Roos can be really horrible little beasts. But it does sound like they had a great time digging through the mulch! I bet that was a huge success.

I'd agree, but this is a TINY restaurant in a really tiny town. I'm pretty sure the lady who gave me my food and took my money - including a 15% tip - was an owner.

In their defense, I called and they offered to replace it, but it was late and I was too hungry to go back and take another 20-30 minutes. I told them I mostly called because, while I wasn't too upset about a big burrito, the person who got my salad might be. They did say they'd do something to compensate on my next visit.

Thanks for the well wishes all. It was a long, long day. Hubby is fine! I'm so shocked they do herniated disk surgery outpatient, but we were home by 7:30 or so. He slept in the recliner with a collar, too keep his neck straight, but he feels great all things considered.

The chickens, of course, were fine. The weather? Two days ago - snow storm. Now? Soooo weird...View attachment 3723778

Sorry to see some of you are ill! I need ALL my vaccines! I waited longer than intended. Guess I need to call the doctor and see what to do first.

I'm so glad it went well. In most cases it is so much better to recover at home than in the hospital. I'm sure he will be better at home with you.
