I also would like to feed the crows and Ravens, but the darn squirrels just steal everything - this is the one reason we stopped feeding the birds. I have thought that I would put out boiled eggs, and meats, but worry about other animals hanging around.
do an elevated platform on a post with one of those metal collars so squirrels can't climb up. Just be sure it isn't within jumping distance of a tree or branch.

Platform feeder (a fancy one)

Then add one of these below the feeder on the pole so they can't climb up it:

P.S. I have tried greasing the pole before - it works for a bit, but they repeatedly try and end up working the grease off enough so they can climb the pole...so the baffle really is needed. AND: again, be sure it is far enough away from anything they can climb and use to launch themselves onto the feeder. Squirrels are pretty smart, and VERY determined! Once one figures out how to get to the feeder-they teach others.

I got a baffle for hubby for christmas - we already have a pole - but I am letting him pick the feeder. If we get it up in the next few weeks, I'll let you know how it goes! But, I have heard of others - including my father-in-law - that have had great results with this.

Don't crows feed on the ground rather than bird feeders?

Crow feeding tax: Pooh checking in for her telemedicine appointment via the coop cam. She seems to be doing fine!

Crows are opportunistic. They will feed wherever they find food. If the platform can be landed upon, they will eat there.

Yes we had those but it very treed here so hard to put anywhere away from trees, ultimately it became just too expensive to feed them, and with my parents away all winter and me away all winter, we didn’t want the poor things to get used to us feeding them then stop…

Lately I haven’t seen any crows or ravens around- not sure why, but I bet it has to do with the milder than normal weather.

Ravens also, got a box of frozen caribou steaks in the back of your truck? No problem! Great place to land and snack 😆

Those ravens are as big as a chicken!

This Raven is a chicken, so is Larry 😁

I feel blessed that the snow missed me, I may still get snow squalls, but for now it’s just really windy now and getting colder.

Earlier I opened to barn door and they all rushed to the door - and stopped. Nope they said not going out there. I put some old straw and hay down, but then the wind picked up and turned cold, that was the end of them going out!
