They are so stunning. Who is the black one with the lacing? I’m guessing Samara is the white silkie? I really hope that they get super used to you and that they want cuddles.
Morinth is the black one with lacing, Samara is the white girl! Funny enough, Shep the marans is softer to touch (and loves to cuddle)

Kiddo is obsessed with Morinth though so I'm putting in extra work to help her get used to petting.

Of course! I got a raised eyebrow at the "up to 12 chickens" size...then did some backwards math to explain why it's perfect for our six. 😏
Considering I heard hubby tell kiddo we could talk about a pompom chicken "next time we get chickens" I think the math is rubbing off on him too.
Oooh! I’m getting some pompom chickens in March. I can’t wait to see your pompom chooks when you get them.

It's done, but needs a little tweaking. Maybe another row or two now that it's sewn together. The eggs shown are large store bought ones, and it was a little tight for them.

Without the center egg they fit fairly securely, but the center egg pushes them up a little so they don't feel super secure. Yeah, a row or two along the edges should fix that.

BUT this is what rough drafts are for! I can try making another here in a bit, maybe use a different thickness yarn, different stitch count, stuff like that.

I do think it will be fine for my use though!

You could put another handle across so that you have four secured locations on the basket.

Or do a ‘lid’ for it! 😊

Thanks for the kind words on the colors. Mrs BY Bob chose the mint for the main coop and the peach for the Cluckle Hut was suggested by someone on this thread.

Stay warm. Darn Canadian air has reached here tonight. Please take your air back.

Ok, but you need to take those Texas Low Snow Makers back 😁

-15C driving in to work this morning, hardly extreme cold but when it’s been on the plus side for so long it’s a bit of a shock!

Tomorrow the barn will likely be below freezing inside, hopefully mum can check for eggs….
