Not Cheetah. He climbed higher in the bush...and higher still when I bent some branches down....migrating into the middle at the same time. I got the long handled snips out and started trimming so I could get into the bush (breezy, sun setting fingers getting cold, still in work clothes...), then started trimming branches out so I could reach some sort of long handle perch into him. Went for a whisk broom on a long handle. NOPE! Climbed higher AND scooted down the hedge. Kept working with the broom all the way past the flagpole (Just to the left of the center roof support, but back in front of the BIG hedge)
Ooo so frustrating! Go home, Cheetah!

Finally caught him. BTW, treats did NOTHING either.
Oh what a brat! Gosh these birds are going to give us fits 😳 but glad you finally caught him.

I got a notification and am popping in (I want to participate more here than I've been able to).
Marie, I know you care deeply, so thank you. But I'm sorry to say that Queenie did die from the hawk attack, in May 2021.
Butters survived it, with a couple of talon wounds to her shoulder and back but the hawk didn't get a good enough grip to hold her. She lost feathers there, which grew back a light golden color. Then with the next molt they were more usual. She lived two more years, until last October.
This is her with Popcorn, in July 2021 showing those light feathers

She was such a beauty, just love that rich colouring so lovely 💕

It’s chilly tonight, -18C and clear, the moon is at a waxing gibbous phase so just coming full and it’s quite bright out there.

In the barn the chooks are in their hen houses, though Cash was a brat and wouldn’t go to bed so she got stuck in with those in Hen House B. Not so warm on there is it kiddo! No one to snuggle up to - brat! That’s her in the corner.

I have been noticing that the chicks are roosting on the edge on their nest box now and only snuggling with their mama when they get chilly. They are growing up fast! 8 weeks old now 😊

And we got the power figured out in the barn, BIL hauled off the plate covers on the switches and all connectors where good, we traced the power line to a light fixture that we had kept in place as a ‘temporary’ junction box until we could run some other cabling to the stall run of lights last summer, the bulb had died and wasn’t completing the circuit, a new bulb solved the problem. Thanks BIL! His suggestion of ‘maybe the bulb is dead’ was correct 😊 so lights, cameras and trough de-icer now working.

What a little brat. You were just trying to help him. If only they would understand that.
