Good morning everyone. I finally got time to sit down and catch up from the 100 pages I was behind. The last week has been rough. Grandma is in the middle of a manic episode and is not sleeping....at all. Therefore, me and mom are not sleeping. I sort of solved the pink egg mystery. I have not gotten another one since that one was laid. Friday I decided to see if it was Owly. I kept her and Poppet locked up in the coop. They get along well and neither one has laid a egg. I finally let Owly out this morning. I think the pink egg had to be a rock egg with extra bloom. That leaves me back on Owly egg watch but good news for sis and Rosie who want that blue egg so bad. Sunday one of the leghorns started back laying, the other 3 still are on a break. That is almost a 2 week break for one of the girls and counting today a 15 day break for the other 3. Blueberry is also on a egg break, and will be for a few weeks now. The day the snow melted Blueberry exploded and she is naked. At times I just can't deal with these hens.
Good grief ! What time to moult!

Sorry to hear your Gran is not well, hopefully she settles down soon, I bet it’s tough on you and your mum.

Can’t wait to see eggs fro Owly and Poppet 🥰

And when I took the dog out after breakfast the chickens were all gathered and eating something yellow. Looks like someone was on the outside roost and laid a soft egg. No shell bits, at first I thought it was a very yellow poo on the ground but the girls ate it. 🤷

Beautiful chooks! You have been blessed.

Knee replacement at 70 is pretty good. Mrs BY Bob has had 3 knee replacements and she is not yet 70.
Hmmm....I didn't know she had 3 legs. :hmm Wow,that must be good for stability!🤔

😆😆😆😆😆

Seriously, though - I have heard that having a second replacement on a knee is not good - that your legs end up uneven in length and that you then need a lift or something in your shoe. Is that correct? How long did the first 'replacement knee' last before it needed to be replaced? My doctor did a good job, but was a jerk about it...and I suspect he was trying to scare me out of it because "I was too young" That said, I am VERY glad that both my primary care Dr. and my eye dr. ganged up on him and convinced him to do it (I was in constant agony - and the shots neither helped nor were good for me - spiked my blood sugar)

@Cynthia12 : I love the picture of your mamma and chicks...and the picture of: I don't care that you are in here...I NEED TO LAY..so, if you won't move, I'll just lay my egg ON you!

And, I am still young-ish, but had my knee replaced 3.5 years ago and am SOOOOOO glad I did! Considering that I have complicating health issues - it went remarkable smoothly! One word of advise, though - exercise your knee - as much as able- before the surgery. Makes recovery much better. I was outside being bad with my knee in a week and a half after surgery! (My knee did yell at me quite loudly the next day...but a few days later I was at it again, ha, ha, ha!)

Her second knee replacement had to be redone because the cement holding it in the bone came loose and it was rotating. It was very painful. They were able to keep her legs the same length despite the revision.

Could be, just keep any eye out for other eggs, they sometimes lay soft eggs, or double yolks when first starting…

Gosh - that sounds painful 😢 glad she was able to keep the length, sure hope that she won’t have any other issues.

Tax for you
