Thirsty Thursday: Dottie and Perry

Boy were the chickens NOISY today. At one point, the cacophony was such that I had to go check to make sure the girls weren’t alerting about a raccoon.

Well, no. It’s been roughly four months since this happened last so I simply forgot the routine: Quincy laid an egg today! And she is SO loud for SO long, every time. And apparently drags everyone else into the sympathy choir as well.

What? (Read that with a glare)

Voila, Quincy’s is the upper right dusky light green.

Ash fluff
20240202_093050.jpg And we have a second egg from our gray-green layer! 90% sure it's Kasumi the olive egger. I still think Morinth will lay creamy color eggs...she seems like she's more? Silkie than Samara. Everyone is squatting but Liara the head hen still gets upset whenever she squats on instinct from being bumped by another bird. She always does this mad squeak and runs off. I told her it's normal and healthy for a hen to lay an egg. They got a cabbage yesterday and ate about half of it, today they're out there eating more. And I have some pots and pails of clean snow melting for their wild water. Spoiled.
