I have to wait until the first of March just to see the surgeon. Ive been seeing a sports medical dr. Shots given. The specialists are all way out with appointments. MRI shows it's pretty beat up. Old age..and, I've had a few accidents with it. Fell dow some stairs once. Then, in the coop. Reached waaay over to get an egg from a nest while leaning on a roost bar. I kept my foot straight and planted then turned my whole body around. Ouch! Twisted it good.

Mrs BY Bob's issues started with falling down the steps. That and she is a nurse so years of standing have worn them out.

Temps here are around freezing, way mild for the time of year. Not going above that, so it's stayed this way for a few days.

This is a shameful submission for Wattle Wednesday, but sweet Perry has started to tint up ever so slightly. So here ya go. Her comb was yellow when she came to live with us. View attachment 3738126

I’ve been training her to use the treadle feeder; she’ll need to both know how to use it and have the gumption to actually try, because in a couple of weeks I’m going on vacation!

She is just lovely

Sorry about Mrs BY Bob, but this is a superb photo of Sydney.

Sydney is a difficult subject for photography. She does not hold still and pose like Phyllis does.

I actually fell down some stairs too..before the coop incident. I had been getting cortisone shots after the fall, they worked, then needed them after the coop..twist. They worked again. Then it just started hurting here years later. Shot didn't work. Then I got the gel shot, it's actually..helping. MRI showed that it's pretty torn and ripped up in there. I waitressed for years. My last job was working as a CNA at a Nursing Home then at an Assisted Home Living place. A lot of walking and bending over and kneeling down. And then there's..age!

Dottie, Albert, and Quincy all working a newly exposed area. I’m pulling back some of the fencing that used to be Perry’s private run. Best part is that Perry wasn’t much of a digger, so this nasty mulch is still “fresh”. There may even be worms in it!
