Snow today, aboit 5”, I opened the barn door and they came streaming up and Tippy beimg the first slammed on the breaks and stopped, everyone had a good look at the snow and decided ‘heck no!’ - gave me the evil eye ‘ya I control the weather kiddos’, and proceeded to go tear up the stalls some more.Freedom
I opened the side door and they made their way across the frozen tundra to sit crowded into Hattie House.

Never heard of that type of Marans they offer…This gets me - these guys in Bellingham Washington State have gotten some of their Spitzhauben lines from Canada !! They have some exotic breeds but I didn't see Russian Orloffs.

We've had powder drifting down off and on all day...with winter weather alerts into Friday. Tems we're mid 20sF, but plummeting after dark. Came home to chicken tracks getting snowed in...looks like 1-2 birds only. Temps on Friday....around 0F (-17C) up to upper teens F. All the fresh stuff is powder: great for skiing....terrible for moisture.
