They will know her as normal, because however she is, they will know no other way, and since she will be the dominant chicken in their world they'll accept that or get pecked and learn it fast!

I like the sounds of this beauty, it’s not my first pick as I really wanted a dark one, but they are certainly pretty.

Never underestimate the lure of.......

Snow today, aboit 5”, I opened the barn door and they came streaming up and Tippy beimg the first slammed on the breaks and stopped, everyone had a good look at the snow and decided ‘heck no!’ - gave me the evil eye ‘ya I control the weather kiddos’, and proceeded to go tear up the stalls some more.

Poor kiddos - well I will clear off mount poopmore a bit this weekend for them.

This gets me - these guys in Bellingham Washington State have gotten some of their Spitzhauben lines from Canada !! They have some exotic breeds but I didn't see Russian Orloffs.

Definitely more investigation needed - will you be incubating this year?

Definitely something to discuss with FIL. Incubator is still there...and the chickens were all MIL. Will be seeing him tomorrow.

We've had powder drifting down off and on all day...with winter weather alerts into Friday. Tems we're mid 20sF, but plummeting after dark. Came home to chicken tracks getting snowed in...looks like 1-2 birds only. Temps on Friday....around 0F (-17C) up to upper teens F. All the fresh stuff is powder: great for skiing....terrible for moisture. As long as it stays on the scant side, they'll want out
....once it stops coming down....at least some of them....and who is out will change. Should be bouncing back up into thawing ranges Sunday/Monday, so they will be out and about again.
