There was a study that I believe @BY Bob posted. If I remember correctly, it skewed towards female by about 10% for cooler temps.

Some people just get more roosters than they should!

Well at this point unless I decide on the offerings at Peavey, I will likely just have the silkie chicks my niece will hatch at the school she teaches at.
