I am very annoyed that I barely get notifications here. No one quotes my posts, reacts to them. Nothing. Each time I visit this site, nothing. It's been happening since yesterday. My notifications are on. Looks like things get boring around here.

I can’t see an issue with Mozzarella’s eye. I hope it is OK.
I doubt that getting annoyed with us because we are boring you is likely to be the best way to motivate us to entertain you.
There are lots of us older folk on this thread. We are well used to being considered boring and strange.

I think you need to take a trip to Rural King, Tractor Supply or a local farm store that sells chicks. Walk in, stare at the chicks for a bit and then pick out those who speak to you. That is how I ended up with the Speckled Suspects aka Sussex, and Owly. I went with the intentions of Barred Rocks and Bielfielders. Sold out of the bielfielders but had the rocks. I did not want 8 rocks so I decided on 2 then spent time looking at my other options. I decided on the EEs next, and then spotted the suspects. They were on a short list in the past but never had them when I was ready for chicks so yup, 2 of them. Wanted 8 total so then decided on the 2 wyandottes who unfortunately passed a few days later.

It was a good thing they were sold out of all bantams. They had a sign that silkies were previously in their bantam bin. I would have came home with 8 silkies and nothing else knowing me.

I'm so excited. My friend JD who has chickens and watches ours when we are away has taken a job at tractor supply for some extra money. They trained him on taking care of the chicks the other day.

So why am I excited? I know JD will keep their water clean. He's already trying to devise ways to help keep the wood shavings out when he's not there.

I suspect that it is just that, for some reason, they aren't being sent to you. You certainly have reactions - just look at the bottom of your actual posts - and see all the reactions you get!!

Most would disagree with your thoughts about this site being boring and nothing happening - we are WAAAAYYY too chatty of a group.

All that said - I thought you weren't supposed to be on here until your grades came back up? So, maybe it is a good thing you think we are boring - so you don't lurk and get in trouble!

BTW: I just love the 2 pics of Toni (You do know I'm somewhat partial to BRs, right? - but they are good pics, even if I wasn't!!)

Probably either:
A) Whether to strike or not for more meal worms, sunflower seeds, X (insert other favorite foods here)
B) More outdoor/free ranging time
OR
C) More rafter roosts for the high flyers!


Lucky for you, your two best organizers/negotiators didn't pass their skills to the next generation. You might be able to break the union if you successfully faction them - and with the bickering within the union - you just might be successful (well, except for Babs - she is steadfast in "I just want more food - nearly anything, just more of it!"
