Crazy weather
It was +14C earlier, around 11am, now at 7:30pm it’s -8C, and a storm of wind!

Not to worry by Friday it’s back to Spring haha!

When I got home earlier we still didn’t have snow, so I figured I would let the gang out for a bit - even though it was freezing cold with the wind chill, unfortunately the wind has blown over the panels and broke them!

I was so annoyed I just left them where they lay. Which I will likely regret if we get that huge dumping of snow they are calling for…

So the chooks didn’t get to go out which made them all grumpy, I brought the horses in and left the chooks to get themselves to bed as they wished.

Looks like most are crammed into HH-A,

Ugh! Babs is roosting on top of the flat panel heater. That thing is only like a quart of an inch thick at the top. It just can’t be comfortable!

Poor Petunia, she was once again in the nest box earlier, I gave her half a calcium and half an aspirin.

Just checked her at evening feed for the horses and she had laid an egg that had broke in the nest box. I cleaned out the sticky shavings, which disturbed Petunia, so I put her with the rest of the gang on HH-A.

I also found Ms Twister roosting out on the wall between the hay stall and the rest of the barn. I gave her a ride back to HH-B which she appreciated - I don’t turn lights on at evening feeding as it disturbs the chooks, I just use my tuque with headlamp, after 35 yrs I have evening chores down pat! Who needs lights!

No snow yet, maybe we won’t get any!!
