And him and Betty being naughty up on my hay stack - ewwww! They kicked that sheet back and pooped on the hay.

Or @BY Bob 2 feeders, 1 of each type of feed. Put the one you'd rather Hattie eat in her preferred eating (or where she does her midnight snacking)

Hattie preferred feeder is everyone's preferred feeder. I could swap the feed in the Cluckle Hut where she snacks.

There is oyster shell for everyone. I provide shrimp and lobster shells as well which Hattie does not eat. They eat a huge amount of grass as well which is loaded with calcium. I think I may just alternate as you suggested.

Good plan. I need another bag of feed next week. I think I will get layer feed and see how badly they complain!

I missed a day of giving Kasumi a calcium pill and she laid a soft shell egg. She refuses to eat the oyster shell every time I offer so I guess I just need to give her calcium pills in cheese every day. On the plus side all the girls love cheesy snacks.
It's nasty outside so here are fluffy butts from earlier this week.

Have you thought about treating their water with liquid calcium? She drinks from the waterers primarily, right?

There is not one spider or bug within 2’ of the floor here! I can’t wait till the moths and butterflies arrive! It’s hilarious watching them chase after them.

A baby Lavender Orpington! I can't tell which, as I had 4 that were identical. Maybe Sissy. Yes, a lot of throwbacks lately, my birds were left with neighbors when I moved, and I am currently planning a new flock for this spring.

The other feed store I used to use switched their supplier to Jones brand layer, my ladies wouldn’t eat it.

When I went to the Hi-Pro 17% Layer pellets from Peavey Mart, I was worried they would pitch a fit, but they really like it. Chickens….. never know with them.


Also the Hi-Pro has more calcium than the Jones brand.

Also the Hi-Pro smells so darn good! I think they have brewers yeast in it - it smells great!
