Much of the time they scrape it themselves. Mine "wipe" their beaks on rocks and bark. Usually keeps it filed down just like their toe nails. Occasionally you have one that needs some help with it.Yikes - another thing i didn't know I needed to do!
Like us they can have overbites which won’t be filed down easily on the ground.I sort of assumed they filed their beaks when they wiped them on the ground and on rocks.
I need to look at everyone’s beak! Not sure I would recognize if a beak was overgrown.
