She is! She isn't like dangerous level skinny but I can feel her breast meat is like...deflated right now. She gets out twice a day that I do and make sure she eats, drinks, and scratches the ground. Might even dustbathe. She's shy about pooping in front of me though!
Poop shy haha - wish they were like that here!

Glad she is doing well, always hard the first time they go broody.

I hope everyone is doing okay! I’m going to need to look at the Synopsis tomorrow because I’ve not been on here all week.

Two eggs have pipped. I only have five eggs out of eight unfortunately. Both Bolt eggs are fertile, and three Ayam Cemani eggs are.

Hatch day is tomorrow, which happens to be a very sad day for me. April 13th is when my dog, Coach, died last year. I’m thinking about naming one of the chicks after him, but I’m not sure.

I think I’m going to go with names like Onyxia, Obsidian, and Midnight for the Cemani’s. For Bolt’s eggs, I might go with something that has to do with Coach, like the road where my parents got him from for one egg. I think for the other I’m going to go with where my other dog is from. (She passed away March 4th 2021.)

Okay, so one Bolt egg has pipped, and the other is a Cemani. I am so egg-cited!

I was just wondering about your eggs. Thanks for the update. Let us know when some babies emerge!

I had the same reaction to @SimpleJenn’s post.
All I can rely on Tassels to do is poop. And boy can she poop. Like a small elephant.
But she is really worrying me with her not drinking. And this morning she didn’t eat either.

RC how is the rain situation we’re you are? It’s so water logged here, rivers are running high, the ground is water logged - and now calling for snow overnight.

I tell you the chooks did not spend much time outside this afternoon! They gave me the stink eye as if I could change the weather!! 🤨

Try sardines or cat food. She might be better with that. I am sure their hormones likely change their smell and taste receptors.

Of course! I’ll definitely post when they hatch.

Is Calypso still broody? I need to tell Willow to just wait one more day, because tomorrow she will have chickies!
(Why did chickies autocorrect do chickpeas?)

It is horrible and water logged.
I still haven’t dealt with that corner of the covered run that floods and so there was standing water again. It does drain when the downpour stops but it never seems to stop.
I was out in the rain this morning digging an additional drainage channel so that the water doesn’t sit all around my chair!
The clay soil is super soggy and slimy!

It isn’t Calypso who is broody. It is Tassels. And I am worried because she hasn’t figured out self-care at all!
