I'm like @Marie2020 when it comes to tech too. I was just sitting there saying "Okay, I guess I'll say I understand it..."

Oh I am not even trying.
I gave up understanding tech when they took away the dos > from my PC and replaced it with, what I was told is, a GUI.
I felt disempowered and now just push buttons and hope for the best!

The Google phone. Pixel. You can unlock the bootloader, and you can install a custom OS on there. GrapheneOS has pretty much no Google components, and LIneageOS has very minimal, and has the Play Store if you opt for that.

GUIs are nice though. You don't have to deal with DOS anymore.

If you're using Windows XP or newer, you're using NT, not DOS. Windows Me was the last DOS based Windows.
