My P had one on which I removed when I got him. I was going to put leg bands on the Buff Orps but now I can pretty much tell them apart.
I just put bands on my chooks because they have cute charms on them. I probably should take them off though.

I can kinda tell the Polish’s apart, but I’d rather be safe than sorry, so I’m just going to take the bands off and put looser ones on that way I can still tell them apart.

I have Curly and Whiskers broody - seeing as how my niece is totally uncooperative regarding the silkie chicks coming here when they hatch (she could keep the blue egg chicks), I will split the Majesty Marans chicks I have arriving on Wednesday - give 2 to Whiskers and 1 to Curly.

AND my niece can keep all the chicks she is hatching, and she can darn well find homes for them. I am done with doing all the dirty work. Next year I am not giving her eggs at all.

Ok my rant is over.

Sounds like the silkie agreement has gone sour. Sorry 😕 That’s a good solution to give them the MM. I do selfishly hope we get to see pictures of the silkie chicks at some point :fl

I am so confused.

The chicks are only 5 weeks old, but Willow is laying eggs again. She still lets the chicks hang out with her, but they are mainly hanging out alone.

With the TSC chicks, she didn’t let them go until they all started laying eggs.
Every batch is different

My niece is notoriously bad at taking decent photos, and at corresponding unless it’s in her favour.

No more nice aunt Kelly. She is too old for that monkey business and I am too old and fed up to put up with it.

Meanwhile my bantams are ridiculously cute 😊♥️

Tween pics, get ready for some funny looking cuteness.

Ryka - I think she is a girl but her growth is so stunted I am far from sure.

Flynt says outside is hot and a bit stressful but bug hunting is fun.

Sun bathing is so nice!

In this picture you can see Granite (in the tote) and Ryka standing next to her. They were hatched within days of each other. Some of the difference is a slower growing bred vs a faster growing breed but I suspect it is more than that. The other Orp hatched out ten days after Ryka and is bigger and is in the front there. She is delaying me from putting them out with the flock because she remains so darn tiny.
