You have such a gorgeous flock! And I have always been smitten with cheeta, butyour other boys, OMG, my heart swoons for them all - gorgeous, watchful, well mannered (at least most of the time), and that they all live together (relatively) peacefully!

😍😍🤗😍😍

And where are you getting these great new emoticons? (the active hugs ones and the bat hitting the hand one???) Love them :)

I was told you can actually down load them! If you hold the curser on them and when a menu pops up choose save.

I just love that last picture with bits of baby fluff sticking up! So darn cute! 🥰 🥰 🥰
I really fell for this little guy. He was such a goofy chick.
He was really hard to get good pictures of. He specialized in bad hair days and clinging to the bricks on the back of the chimney because he hadn’t managed to get enough height to fly to the nest.

First picture is three in the nest with their mouths wide open waiting for Mom or Dad to return.

And for tax I have a BFTP: Maggie, Diana, and Elizabeth shortly after they were able to move in to the Chicken Palace. They loved looking out of the window by the big roost.

Good Saturday morning all - I am just popping in quick to say hi. I am sooooo far behind I won’t catch up if I went back. So I am just pooping in here. I’ll read the synopsis and see if I missed anything rally important.

Update from me:

Broodies
—————-
Whiskers is still broody must be going on 4 weeks now or more. I haul her butt off her nest a couple times a day.

Dorothy has been broody for a week now, this morning she had a big dust up with her sister Rose. Why is it they pick fights with their sisters? Anyways I also haul her big fat butt off the nest couple times a day.

They both eat, drink, dust bathe, poop out a smelly poop then run back to their nest.

Babies
—————
The big chicks are around 6 weeks now and out and about with the grups when I get home at night and all weekend - the bantam chicks are coming 4 weeks this Monday, still not sure if pullets or cockerels. They are cute as the dickens and very friendly. And they are flying up to roost with the big chicks at night on the wall of their pen.

Curly’s 2 chicks are coming 2 weeks old on Tuesday, they are thriving and also flying up on things. As I haven’t had a lot of time to spend with them, they are not as friendly as the other chicks.

The school chicks are still with the kids at a school but will likely be coming here next weekend - they are getting big now and flying everywhere. As you all know the spraddle legged chicks didn’t make it which is very sad. So the count now for the school chicks is 5 of the blue eggs (4 are white/splash, and one is black), and there are now 3 silkies (all are black, and one is a frizzle).

The Grups
——————
Ruth is still lame and still getting pain meds (Tylenol and aspirin) morning and n Evening. But she doesn’t let it stop her, she told me this morning, her foot may be sore but her wings are fine! She is losing a bit of weight as I guess she isn’t foraging as much or up eating as much. That’s fine she was hefty so losing a bit of weight will be ok for her good leg.

The silkies are back with the main gang during the day, Henny Penny is not overly happy, she sets herself up to be harassed by Bert - why he picks on his mama I do not know. All she has to do is face him down.

Everyone is doing good otherwise.

@Desertvalleychickens and @Ponypoor I am sorry for your loss.
It sounds like Cluckie had a long and full chicken life.
Kelly, I hope you feel like you did everything you could for that wee one.
Keeping chickens we somehow have to make peace with them dying. It's harder when their end is not the peaceful one we hoped for.
:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

@RebeccaBoyd to honour a chicken who passed recently...I'm really hoping to read the next part of Momma hen's story :hugs .
I will try to finish Momma Hens story this week. We started back going down grandma's to clean and I've been very busy. The rest of her story may not include pictures. To get to the pictures I was thinking of using I also have to go back through a majority of my Gracie photo's as well and I cannot make myself do that right now.
