'Fart' or 'Wind' eggs are not unusual (not a frequent thing, but not totally unusual - especially for new to laying, older girls, and return to laying after a break. It was the lash egg that @Sylvester017 showed a picture of that, to me at least, indicated trouble, not the 'fart' egg. I have had a few of those 'fart/wind' eggs each season over the years - with no additional issues from the hens. Think of it as the equivalent of a woman having an irregular period when they are normally quite regular. Usually stress or something causes that in humans - for chickens, it could be a stressful event (fox harrassing them at night), or the 'getting the egg manufacturing machinery back up and running' after a break. I wouldn't worryWow. I hope that isn’t the case with Tassels. She is only just over a year old.
The strange egg was her first back to laying after being broody for 23 days and then no laying for about a week after I got her to snap out of broodiness.
Honestly it didn’t occur to me something might be wrong, I assumed she was just getting the production line back up and running.
Oh I do hope she is OK.
Well, I'm gonna forgive the drying socks, because there's a cat in the photo. This cat keeps taking my hand away from my phone

It is not for my sake - I speed read/skim and can always put you on ignore to make that even easier. We'll just wait until she's not looking.
I meant the comment in jest. Sorry if that was not clear. It is not for my sake - I speed read/skim and can always put you on ignore to make that even easier.
Just remember we have lost many people from this lovely community because they found the thread was getting cluttered with chatter.
That is sad, and you should not feel proud about making it worse.
There are many other threads where chatter is encouraged.
Chatter tax: broody Sylvie nit entering into the spirit of being a jail bird. She seems to be making the 2x4 into her nest and it is hard to cool her down in 95° temperatures. I really am curious to know if the dunk in water method works.
