Oh my goodness sooo adorable
I love their little fluffy topknots - I trim my silkies and polish topknots back so they can see better - though it can be a bit funny seeing them bop into the doorway when they don’t see it. Silly birds.
Not sure if it's with all Silkies or just my flock but they trim each other's eyes. DH was ready to bring our newest Silkies in to give them eye trims and noticed they didn't need it!
Years ago our first Silkie "Violet" would stick her head into another chicken's beak to have them pull the feathers around her face.
"Violet"
As new Silkies would get added Violet would "trim" their faces.
"Suzu" allowed trimming a bit too far
"Ginny" doesn't allow her trims to go too far!
Now Suzu and Ginny have passed on the trimming tradition to the new pullets.
