Hmmm, yes Baytril as an antibiotic would be controlled I would say, they are trying to slow the process of microbials adapting to the meds, I am ok with this.I wondered about the powdered dosage myself. I was on Meyer Hatchery website yesterday that cautioned the 9.6% solution of liquid Corid cannot ship to my state of California!
Another banned product is Baytril injections which is getting ridiculous all the medications being taken away.
My big issue is with the cost associated with seeing a Vet for your pets to receive treatment. And with chickens it’s near impossible to find a vet who will treat them anyways! My small animal vet treats poultry and all varieties of birds, i am lucky there, but she is very expensive.
I have another vet who will treat my chickens who is a reasonable drive and that’s the one who I went to with the wee spraddle legged chick. So I do have options - it’s just being able to afford them, for most people it’s just not an option.
But I am super grateful I have knowledge and ability to treat almost every thing and a veterinarian who is willing to work with me. I feel super grateful for my horse vet.
