Gosh they are so darn adorable!

Mrs Little chicken is a red breasted girl. Mr Little Chicken looks to be creole instead of Duckwing. Both are stunning. Momma Hen is smiling down from above over her namesake.

Mrs LC looks like her colour for sure but she isn’t getting a comb - is that usual for these wee hens? Gosh they are so ridiculously tiny and cute I worry about them being hurt!

Oh and bad Kelly - I introduced Mr LC to the tree, and caught him 4’ up on the branches 🤭

She will eventually get a comb and wattles starting about 3 1/2 to 4 months of age. Not a huge one fairly small. It is actually good for your cold weather. Mr Little chicken will have a nice comb and wattles when he is done. Do not blame yourself on the lad finding the tree. Game chickens can fly really well. Think of them similar to leghorns, their body is built for flight. They can shoot straight up or hang low and cover a good bit of distance before landing. This is exceedingly helpful in escaping a predator. The tree will become his playground, and his sisters before long nothing you can do. Up until the end Momma Hen preferred to roost in the tree. Her branch was about 25 feet up. She got there in 2 hops for better words. I missed the question about Mrs. Little chickens neck feathers. If by chance you think your seeing pointy hackle feathers that is a illusion due to the markings in the feathering. Owly has similar black tipped markings on her neck feathers. It gave off the illusion of pointy hackle feathers and in the back of my mind I questioned her until about 6 months old. I never truly felt pullet until right before she laid that first egg. I just knew one morning I was going to be greeted with a crow from her.

@Ponypoor agreed on the neck feathers. Nellie and Twirp have the same thing going.

I felt the same way about Henny Penny - I was so excited and relieved she was a pullet when she laid that first egg.

I have to laugh at those two wee chickies, at night they are so small the just snuggle under the wings of the BOrps - esp Butters, the are training her to be broody haha.

He's got the rust coming on his shoulders...oh is he going to be eye candy!
And he is a huge suck! All he wants is to be carried around the brat! He always has to be snuggled up. I have to be careful at evening feeding a couple times he has flown up onto my shoulder almost hitting me in the face. Mrs LC is not as clingy but she does like to snuggle when it’s cold. They are the friendliest little chickies.
