Gosh they are so darn cute aren’t they?Yes, we have hawks, vultures, and owls in this area. I get a roll 7’ wide and 100’ long for $55 at tractor supply. It last pretty well too.

I would laugh if I didn't feel like this could really happen. Our war with Canadawas cancelled, because of our lack of presidential leadership. The embargo placed on maple syrup was lifted by the Canadian government.
So there was no reason to fight anymore.![]()
Hmmmm interesting, I have not seen a Henny do this, but my nest boxes are enclosed so maybe she is making the nest reinforced so chicks don’t stray out.The Wall
Lady Featherington has built a wall of straw in front of her nest. I have no idea what this means. Glynda has not.
This will be fun. Are you sure? I'm really antsy about continuing to disturb everything this close to hatch.I am certain these were dud eggs that have disappeared. She will not like it but you need to take a damp washcloth out and clean Lady F's breast feathers of the gunk. While you are there use a semi damp washcloth and clean the gunk the best you can off the remaining eggs. They do not have to be perfect, can even use fingernails and scrape the gunk off. I would also scrape out the straw in the box that is nasty and quickly replace with fresh bedding. You may need Mrs. BY Bob's help on this as Lady F will put up a fight.
The cracked egg broke. There was a piece of shell in the nest box.If it’s been really hot there it will likely be ok, did you try to candle it?
Well she would be in lock down mode now anyways, it’s day 19 right?
I feel a lot better now knowing you found that egg.
Can I ask about the one that looked like it pipped?
The chicks look like they are doing much better. That's very good. Good job helping them.I had the newest chicklets out and about tonight, they had a blast digging about in the dirt and a relief to see the other chooks ignoring them pretty much.
