That is a lot of great instrumentation!

I find they can handle colder temps better than the heat. It gets quite humid here so evaporative cooler are fairly useless most of the time.

I am so very saddened to hear this. My deepest condolences to you and Mrs Bob. She was a very special and glamorous chicken. I’m sure she is strutting the catwalk now giving a fashion show to all your other beloved chickens who have come and gone in your life.

@BY Bob I'm so sorry for your loss. I read your post while waiting on a reply regarding some polish chicks...I will take it as a sign to go ahead and buy them. Rest in peace Phyllis, my daughter loved you the most of the chickens I've shown her from the thread. "Pretty pompom chicken" indeed.

How sweet. If more polish chickens find good homes then Phyllis' life was a success.

I could hear nothing.

This evening is only day 19. All that means is you do not have a super early hatcher. Perfectly normal. Get a good night sleep and sneak out in the morning and listen again.

Farewell My Friend

It is with great sadness that I share this.

Last night Phyllis passed away in her sleep.

She was very active yesterday and I should have seen that as a sign. She left the coop for the first time in days and just like in old times she positioned herself under my feet.

I just finished making arrangements for her cremation. Mrs BY Bob wants to finally let her be in the house with us.

It will never be the same here. She was my shadow when I was outside. I'm certain for the rest of my life I will check my feet to make sure that I'm not going to step on her.

Be at peace my dear friend. You will never be forgotten.
