Last years hay is all moved, this years hay has yet to be brought over to my barn. I need to check it first to make sure it’s ok for my horses.

With all the rain here this summer I need to make sure it isn’t fausty.

I have a more serious issue with the barn roof leaking. It has caused water to get onto the ceiling of my feedroom/office.

This means I need to take the ceiling down and all the vapour barrier and insulation. Also need to remove the nails in the roof steel and replace with screws and new rubber washers to keep the water out. I will see if I can borrow the ‘tie off harnesses’ from work - I don’t like working on the roof, at my age a fall could be catastrophic.

I really don’t need this right now but seems I am destined to have rotten luck these days. Anyways my BIL and I will work on this over the weekend. Pray for no more rain 😞 and hopefully not hot and humid.
That is terrible. I'm very sorry this has added to your troubles.

Having a house or barn is just trouble - always maintenance and work to keep it up.

The barn is 35 yrs old so it’s darn good it is this long and hasn’t needed work. But those nails holding the steel roof to the purlins need to be replaced.

Of course that leaves a bigger hole for the new screw to go into so I will need to use some sort of sealant with the screw. It’s fiddly diddly work.

Thirsty Thursday

Yesterday the gang had a blast in the flooded pooling in the grass again. Lots of yummy things in there and wild water to drink.
