Next spring you could start supplying your area with the tiny little chickens. Mr Little Chickens sounds like he is a hoot. Thank him now, he is showing you how well they can fly. Where ever he goes, scout those areas. Mrs little chicken will soon follow with ideas of making a hidden nest.
I will be closing off those areas soon trust me ! 😉

The chicks are 3 weeks old now. I managed to get pictures of 4 out of the 7 before my camera died. Once it charges back up I will try to get pictures of the other 3.

Branchlet 1. Your guess is as good as mine on what the color will eventually be. I am probably wrong but I am thinking some sort of partridge. Poppet is black or silver partridge. Branch has Partridge behind him and twice he threw it when crossed with Chiquita. It is way to early to guess genders, but, if I use size as a clue this one gives pullet vibes.

Branchlet 2. This one is Black, my only black one. Going by size again, tiny so maybe pullet. It also has a bump on its head indicating it will have the best head poof of the group. It should have a topknot similar to Poppets. Please be a pullet, please be a pullet.

Branchlet 3. Reba. If I had to guess based off size, Reba is actually Barbosa. Biggest of the silkies. Taller, wider, thicker legs. Now, of course this means absolutely nothing but I am leaning towards cockerel. My gut is telling me boy, I have learned to listen to my gut.

And last but definitely not least, Adele. She is a polkie. She is showing absolutely zero traits of her silkie lineage. I was waiting to see if she might be splash but also showing no signs of that either. She is white and is pretending she is all Polish.

Awwww Adele is a hoot! Love that topknot what a blast! And she knows she is a funky chickie.

Your silkie chicks are ridiculously cute, I love those fuzzy legs 🥰 and as you say hard to say if boy of girl. Please all be girls ♥️

Oh Adele. 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Polish chicks are so adorable.

My printer isn't working so I had to draw out the hatching calender.

The lady walked me through setting up the incubator...

And we got the broodies settled with their clutches.

Samara seems a little nervous but Morinth is acting like she's been raising chicks for ages. :) I closed the maternity suite to give them peace and quiet to settle in.

The other girls got some more treats, frozen watermelon, electrolyte water, and some cold water soaked henhouse reserve. I told them they will have flockmates soon, and gave them all some love.
The little polish chicks are settling in. I keep having to put more things to visually block the dog from seeing them because he's getting worked up having them indoors.

A very good, yet confused boy.

Time to Explore

First stop after the dust bath, the Magnolia Tree!

And then they got to meet Auntie Aurora!

That introduction went really, really well! It made me think of a Rooster 'intro'. Aurora bent low with her head and eye-balled/imprinted with each chick right away, then started doing normal chicken things with the group! I have to say, Aurora is a much better leader than I ever thought she would be prior to taking on that role. She may be stern, but she has proven time and time again that she is, indeed, a wise ruler!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Oh, the hearts are for Lady F, Glynda, and, of course, the adorable littles as well as Aurora....but, being Queen, she can keep or dole out the love as she sees fit!😆
