Lake fire has consumed much land and trees (mighty sequoias) on the reservation. Some of the oldest trees in the world are still in danger of being destroyed.
Indian council says they respectfully decline my attempts to volunteer my services and aircraft to support and assist.
No chickens were harmed at the moment.
(Does this sound like “old man stay out of this, and let the younger men handle the situation !” ? )

This is true! Tiny poopies

That’s what I loved about Jaffar, tiny poopies, but most of the time he would wait until he was outside. He was such a good rooster.

I literally almost had a heart attack when I found poor Sir Jaffar in the run deceased. Saddest day of my life since 2007.

Just checked the chickens and gave them fresh water. My broodies are used to being tossed off the nest so they had no problems with me lifting them up to check the eggs, then setting them back down. All 8 broody eggs are still intact. I imagine if there are any issues they will be tossed off the nest or eaten? I'm going to leave them alone to do their thing and check the eggs under them once a day for now.

As for the incubator, woke up this morning and turned the eggs. I think I'll need to add water tonight. My neighbor says the hygrometer and thermometer on the top are not correct but he only has a thermometer inside. I don't have my lizards old one anymore or I would pop it in there too. Oh well.
For pony sunday here's Fenix, he's started acting like an old man even though he's only 7.

Aurora is going to be horrified when she learns what her new niece is. It is also a good thing there are several states between us. I think if Aurora and Poppet got together and put their minds to it they could achieve world domination. If Aurora could agree a silkie is a chicken that is.

A week old and they are just like little chickens now their wing feathers are growing in, soon their body feathers will grow in.

Before you know it they will be singing the egg song
