This morning it's really pleasant. It rained through the night and was very muggy. I woke up it a sweat at a ridiculous time

It’s cooler here this morning. The horses and chooks are definitely happy with the cooler weather.

Gosh I have lost count now.

I go between picking the pullets to sell and keep….

Sweetie and Jaffarra will stay, the rest are up on the air.

Shorty will have to go. And the silkies if they are boys. I am trying to stay unattached but it’s hard! They are all so darn friendly.

We have a visitor!
He showed up out of nowhere four days ago, and has been hanging around our house ever since.

I have a feeling he was “ dropped off”, because chickens don’t just “get lost”, do they?
I have an ad in the local Lost & Found on Facebook but other than a few “aww…”s, no one knows or wants him.
He is shiny and looks well-cared-for, he is solid BLACK.
He walks back and forth at the fence looking at our chickens, lol.
I finally broke down and put food out there, and he was famished!
Guess I’ll have to find him a home. Wish me luck with that.

Looks like another australorp. Hector seems to have started moulting, as has Storm. Noticed both looking rather scraggly this evening.

Yes I understand that worry, my two have to be separated now. Darn Roos!

But he sure is a looker

He is super friendly, too. He comes right up to me and chuckles to me. He is so cute!
I would love to keep him, but I am lucky that I have been able to keep Archie and Elvis together! They grew up together and Elvis is more mellow and easy going, so they don’t step on each other’s toes.
