Part 6 of the doctor trip (because there is more and you all can't seem to go an hour without knowing what's going to happen next. Pony I'm looking at you.)
So, after checking her breathing, the doctor checked Grandma's reflexes with the hammer thingy. Grandma flinched and didn't seem too comfortable with the hammer hitting her knee. While checking Grandma's reflexes, the doctor complained about Grandma's legs and how scaly they were along with the fact that they were flaky. Grandma wasn't quite pleased. She doesn't like it when someone says she has lizard-like legs. The doctor wrote down her observations, again writing in scribbles. Grandma was getting bored of the doctor and just wanted to go home. A part 7 will figure out what will happen to Grandma next.

Part 7 of the doctor trip.
It was then time to check the tongue, well the mouth. Grandma wasn't a huge fan of a popsicle stick going on her mouth but eventually, the doctor confirmed that nothing was wrong with her mouth. I think she was trying to smell Grandma's breath, which seemed to confuse Grandma as she didn't want anyone to complain about her breath. She then threw the popsicle stick to which Grandma heard the noise as it made a quiet noise. Come back for part 8 for the cranial exam.

Part 8 of the doctor trip.
It was now time for the cranial exam. I'm not sure what she did first but I think she first did the color test. Chickens are good at detecting color and their eyes seem to be better than a human's, seeing things faster, therefore they have no delay when it comes to reacting to the sight or sound. The doctor asked Grandma what color were the caps of the markers. Being a chicken, Grandma didn't talk much. Grandma was able to complete that part of the cranial exam. Part 9 will explain the other part of the exam.

Good for you! If they hadn’t agreed walk away.

But it’s super cute isn’t it😊

Love how useful it is, are you thinking of getting more babies?
Not right now. The firecrackers are too big to put more little chicks in with them. And don’t want to be running two brooders at a time. But I’m sure I willl end up with more some time. 😂

Good bargain. You couldn't build it yourself for that price! Hope you can modify some new wheels for it to wheel it out of the rain. Water is a killer/warper on wood coops.
There is a tarp over that part of the run that protects it a little. And I might put some water seal on it eventually. I don’t care if it warps a little here and there.

I could use some prayers sent Rosie's way please.

I got a call from the school this afternoon that a fight broke out and she was caught in the cross-hairs and needed to be picked up.

I get to the school and there is an ambulance there along with the sheriffs department. They are loading Rosie onto the ambulance. Principal, the sheriff and her teacher were trying to talk to me all at once and Rosie is in a meltdown. The teacher and myself rode with her to the hospital and the principal told me to come Monday and they would have all the information for me then. I got from the teacher that there was a pep-rally going on when a girl started hitting a boy who was sitting beside Rosie in the head with a Stanly cup. He tried to get away and she threw it and it bounced off his head and hit her in the mouth. She has 2 broken teeth, a busted lip and a concussion. I found out from a friend who came to the ER right after school that she did pass out for about 2 seconds but a group of people caught her before she hit the ground. Her mouth is hurting and she is super sensitive to heat and cold but the nerve is not exposed. She is on amoxicillin and pain meds until Monday when I can get her into the dentist for them to be capped. Rosie is also on a 3 minute loop. Every 3 minutes she starts asking the same questions over and over and over and does not remember exactly what happened. I did let the sheriff and principal know before I left I do want charges pressed.
That is absolutely horrible! That girls family definitely should pay the medical bills and then some.

Goodbye my friend.

Yesterday I found out Aurora had a really bad prolapse. I tried to shove it back in but she had pooped in her body cavity. There is about an inch of guts outside her cloaca. She does not seem to be lethargic but since she pooped inside I am sure it will get infected. Also it may happen again. I got her inside the barn because the wasps were tormenting her. Today she will be put down because I don't have the heart to let her go on suffering, because, even though I put honey on her vent to keep it from drying out, she went and scratched around in the wood shavings and got wood shavings all over her guts.
Goodbye Aurora, my only Easter Egger. :hit
