I’m getting all these happy birthday wishes from everyone. Truth be told, this day has always been the worst day of my life. Every year something happens to spoil my peace and happiness.
I just hope that it’s not too catastrophic this time.
The stories I could tell you! :he:barnie
Happy Birthday! It happens to be my DH's B-day today too!

I'm not a fan of b-days either! As a kid on a lonely farm a scoop of ice cream in a root beer float after dinner w/ one or possibly both parents was our big whoop - no presents, no parties, just another day older, eh?

Years later my thoughtful Ex came home w/ a fry pan in a grocery bag w/ the price tag still on it and handed it to me :lau

You need to introduce them slowly. Especially an 'interloping male.' Even if you feel you don't need to quarantine, they do still need a maybe a week of 'fenced off but can see each other' to get to know one another - the whole flock with Rosario. Then integrate and watch (there will still be kerfuffles, but maybe not as bad as when he is just put in with them with no introduction.)
I am wanting to rehome him this week, I do not want to have the trouble of yet another Roo.

What did you keep?

I would have kept the frying pan personally, but the guy would have been put out the door! 😁

Happy birthday to your husband ♥️ This one sounds like a keeper - glad he has been with you so many years ♥️♥️♥️👍

ok well have it figured out here; Mr P and Mr LC are in the Rooster Run with their ladies and the youngest chicks and silkie babies.

Bert and Rosario are in the yard with the rest of the hens and the oldest pullets.

So far, so good.

Tomorrow I will keep Rosario in Hen House A for the day; no one lays eggs in there so it’s a good safe place for him.

I’ll keep the screen door closed rather than the solid wood door, so he can still see everyone. He can go out with Bert and his gang when I get home from work, and Mr P as usual out in the Rooster Run.

I feel like I have horses all over again and all the associated drama that goes with beotchy mares.

He’s a smart boy and has figured out his place here pretty fast.

Not sure what he is - white with brown speckles…. Easter Egger?

Oh hahaha Bert has come for a visit - likely wants to have a word with me on the visitor…

They know they are not allowed in here! The brats!

Part 10 of the doctor trip.
The next part of the cranial exam is follow the object. The doctor didn't want to blind Grandma with a flashlight so she used her pen, that just so happened to have chickens on it. She very sternly told Grandma to look at just the pen with her eyes and told her to not look at anywhere else in the room, at her or look by moving her head. The doctor had no idea if Grandma was looking at the pen, so she was just keeping her eye on Grandma. Well, even if Grandma kept her eyes in one position the whole time (and perhaps moved her eyes), I think she did well. Part 11 soon.
