Thanks! I bought this pattern and it's working up very nicely!
I could make you an egg basket with 4 dividers if you like, I've been off and on working on a pattern and finally figured out what to do! I was overcomplicating things as usual haha.

Princess seems back to her old self. She's not eating her layers with garlic so I made sure she had plenty this morning then I dusted her down incase of mites. I also gave her 10mil if electrolytes water.

She's happy in the garden, she's in the shade right now but this was her earlier

JEWLZ was still in-house recuperating from bumblefoot. Because of keeping the footwrap bandages clean and to watch that JEWLZ didn't peck off the wrap it turned out safer to keep her indoors to watch the bandage. As much as I had wanted DANA to be my chicken, it was JEWLZ who picked me to be her human. She was so good posing for me!

End of Nov 2018 JEWLZ is fully well and outdoors. She forever followed me around the yard.

Outdoors the two Dominiques, the Cuckoo Breda and Silkie Violet were together again and the Dominique sisters made sure that CHAR the Breda didn't harass the Silkie ~ good girls!
CHAR would not enter the sandbox as long as the Dom girls were w/ Silkie VIOLET! CHAR looks so innocent but there was always a watchful Dominique sister keeping an eye on CHAR who would try sneak attacks on the Silkie

But look at THIS! Dominiques perching on rough paver stone garden bed border ~ causing (we guessed) eventual bumblefoot because none of the other breeds we ever had rested on the rough stones! Hence, Dominique bumblefoot issues happened year after year!

In Dec 2018 DANA was moulting ~ must be miserable for chickens.

(Spring 2019) The chicken yard finally got fully extended w/ a 2nd popup canopy erected at the far end. More work to be done in the subsequent years.

However, Santa Ana Winds w/gusts 50-90 mph tore up the 2nd canopy frame.

Now today we have 3 popup canopies in the chicken yard and we buried the canopy legs 10-12 inches into the ground and although the covers get torn or frayed at least the frames remain stable and we just gripclamp new tarps as covers (cheaper than costly new canopy covers every year!).

My drive to the mountains is 45 minutes away. I’m safe in the valley, but I have mountain property too. At 7500ft near camp Nelson. I always worry about it getting burnt out.

For over 25 yrs we still have property in Northern Calif in Modoc County ~ 75% is nat'l?/state? forest so limited population. We once had plans to have poultry & livestock and live the neighborly life. We're over 6000 ft level but when we saw the burned out forests on the lower levels we decided not to live there. Calif forest fires have a reputation of destroying life & property! Although it would've been fun living in a county that once tried to vote Modoc County and lower sections of Oregon to break away and become the new state of Jefferson State. However on Election Day voting Dec 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor bombing canceled elections and never got put on the ballot again!

I think the moulting and this heat has got to princess. It's still watering but i read this may be because she's drinking lots.

Our babies are so worrisome ~ & we know when they are acting "off" normal.

Here is her fart egg next to her normal egg!

Hubby says he hopes our sebright is a girl and lays eggs this tiny. I told him quail lay that size and he said "you aren't getting no dang quail!" Haha. One of his coworkers is trying to convince him to get ducks, but no way am I cleaning ponds twice a day with my current health!

My knee is slowly healing, I've been wearing my brace and taking painkillers. My other one hurts too, the bruises are fading at least. I recommend watching where you walk on old decks, the one time I rushed I fell through!

I didn't know the fires were mainly in the mountains. Is that just because of that is where the forests are? Or is there more to it than that?

Partly the forests, partly the terrain is difficult to get into.
