My heart is breaking 😢

This morning I heard a new crowing in the barn. Clyde. It was expected, but still was disheartening.

But the heart breaker was my witnessing him and Georgie going at tooth and nail outside. And they just wouldn’t stop! They both meant business.

I dragged the all inside as it was pelting down rain (another heart break more rain), put the silkies and youngest chicks in their pen. And again they went back at it. This time Clyde got poor Georgie down and wouldn’t let him up.

So Clyde is in with the chicks and Georgie out with the rest of the gang.

I will never hatch eggs again. It’s too heart breaking.

Now I have 5 cockerels to get rid of. What sort of crazy chicken math is this?

Your life seems so unfortunate. :idunno

Class photos of the 4 I managed to catch. By the time I was done I had so much poo on my shirt I didn't bother catching the butterbirds...and no way was I risking my eyes trying to get the wee bitties.

Disco Inferno. 7-ish weeks, cuddled when I finally caught them.

Snuggled for a while and then my knee twinged so it was time to let go and fly away.

Bab Ross. Caught her easily enough, she wiggled, got comfy, and snuggled.

Yes, he was biting me haha.
Great looking birds!

That happend to me! My sick hen Coco was outside and I was holding my hen Snooze, I look to see what she was doing and could not find her! Everywhere I looked she was not, so I ran around trying to find her yelling her name (she responds) and she was not there. I went back to check, and she magically was there...
It's unfair what they put us through sometimes. :rant

I went out to sit with the littles and got captured.

Rule #1, never wake a sleeping chicken.

What a little poop! Hmmm she’s small enough she can hop up anywhere and have a snooze where you can’t see. Mrs Little Chicken did that - she flew up on the boards in the summer house and I couldn’t see her. I just happened to see her hop down otherwise her spot would remain a secret 😊
She is white. White chickens stick out when you are looking for them. They are hard to miss.
