A Touching story for a Sunday

Tassels is back in broody jail. She settled in to incubate her little bit of 2x4.
Setting up a fan was more complex than I expected - if I put it under her then will for sure hit the fan - so I need to work out how to do this.
I will try in the morning.
I am also wondering if I should spray water in her undercarriage. Has anyone had any experience with that method?

I plopped Whiskers in the puddle up to her belly and it did nothing for her.

It’s hard to circumvent biology sometiMrs!

What causes this?
I was talking with the little ones while they were in the run napping . All seemed fine until I felt a pinch on my butt. It was Aero, she had snuck up behind me and WHAM, bit me right in the buttocks.

Are BOTH truly cockerels? I don't want your Moorhead Silkie to be a boy! The girls do get some slightly stiffer feathers in their tail fluff poof.

These are our 3 juvenile girl chicks ~ see the tail feathers.

The black crowed yesterday morning.

The other has not crowed - I have no idea what gender - I wish now I had done the gender dna test.

Sorry, I couldn't help but laugh.

Do the pants you're wearing have any kind of pattern? When I wear a particular pair of pants in with the chickens, a couple of them will peck at a stain that's on the side of my right leg. Another pair have a thread sticking up out of the weave, and that gets some pecks.

My chicks ar just fascinated with my shirt that had buttons - they attack those buttons with gusto!

Princess is still here but not eating layers at all. I have to hand feed her now.

Sounds like moulting - a bunch of mine are starting. Waiting for the pillow factory appearance to the barn hhahahaha

From the outside of the closed coop two broody Silkies from yesterday trying to figure out how to jump into the open lid (for ventilation) nestboxes. So we had to move away the little resin side table or these determined broodies would try to jump into the nests & seriously drop to the ground if they missed.

Two minutes later Moorhead partridge Keiko was in a b*tchy mood & started an attack on Blue (gray) Betta ~ Betta is mild-mannered but she will defend herself. The two broody pullets were rolling on the ground in a fur-pulling claw-fight & DH was too busy pulling them apart to get fight video!
