Mice on a coffee break tax: IMG_3986.jpeg

Every year there seems a different abundance of garden pests ~ either earwigs, crickets, water beetles, slugs, rats, squirrels, spiders, June bugs, wasps, feral cats, sparrows, Cooper's hawks, or cutworms, etc. Each species chooses one year to be an abundant pest!

Wouldn’t it have been more beneficial for the mice to break into a feed bin? Not a box of coffee mugs. (Unless those little rascals were in need of a caffeine boost)? :idunno
That is why I thought it was OK to use a plastic tote. No food involved. But I guess a mug makes for a good place to make a nest.

Yes, EE/Americauna boys and girls both have fluffy beards and muffs. I'll try to get a pic of my EE boy tomorrow - it will be later in the day - but I will post!

It is just that more people on here have girls and no or few roos
Okay, I fibbed. Went out today to take a picture of him.....and realized it would not help you see just how full of a beard and muff boys have. He is moulting badly, and has hardly any muff - just a naked chin with a few pin feathers coming in - and one lonely tail feather!

So, I am doing the next best thing, I found an EE rooster pic online and am posting it:
