@Ponypoor ~ we were talking SiLkie feather colors. your Clyde appears an all Black Silkie w/ normal blue/gray undercoat down that peaks thru the top black feathers.

Our Black Mika is a "Dark Partridge" with gold speckled wing tips and a gold neck collar which you can see in the video when she stretches her neck forward to eat tomato w/her sisters (song lyrics written by DH 🎵).

I have noted that Clyde’s sides are starting to get silver - Rebecca’s mentioning it made me look closer tonight.

I will have to take some photos this weekend of them both.

Your sweetie pies are just little princesses 😊♥️ I love the silvery grizzled colour on the one to the right.

It is ~ but being retired offers us the time & opportunity to spoil the little hooligans! W/both of us fairly confined at home cuz of my broken arm the little girls offer a lot of entertainment.
I appreciate my comfort. On hot days I tend to stay indoors, but the chooks are outdoors and I go back and forth between hot and cold. They all get too many treats sometimes, because I get to feeling guilty about ignoring them.
Especially my new Roo Rudy the Wyandottey!

Ours are spoiled for sure as I'm sure are yours too :love

Pictures say a 1000 words better than trying to explain color.

This was our all Black Silkie w/ silver-gray undercoat down - notice the body feathers under the wing ~ and during moult we found a lot of her lighter feathers moulting thru the black coat.

This is Suzu our Silver Partridge ~ she was not a black chick but gray w/black crest & feet growing in later (gray chick) ~ not a Blue Partridge since Suzu's body has become darker w/ each year's moult.

Well if the "tail feather/comb pinkness" method is correct, 4 of the 7 babies with Samara and Morinth are boys, including the polish (darn!)

Very pink and prominent in person, but I will still hope and wish for a blue girl polish.
That puts us up to 9 girls and 9 boys of the newbies, and 5 hens. Almost enough girls to have a cochin roo AND a polish roo...

Ric kept trying to go UNDER Bab to sleep, he was like "but I'm a chilly little baby!" And Bab was like "dude you are bigger than me!!" Very cute

Dangit Disco Inferno, you are looking rather masculine in the comb. :( I really wanted a girl porcelain. My butterbirds are looking good, as is Muddy Buddy.

Coco Puffs and Nyx, two cutie half cochin half silkies. 🥰

I'm making an egg basket for the market Saturday, and I will offer my new apron up for sale just because we could use the money and I forgot to make a black Shep chicken for it! I need a new apron with a Shep on it!!!
Hubby convinced me to not take any bantam boys, he wants to keep them as long as safely possible. Didn't take much to convince me, they're all so cute and little Trickster's crows are adorable. Hubby has next week off work for a staycation and recovery from surgery. It'll be nice to be home together!

I wish hubby well with his surgery! Hopefully it goes very uneventfully:hugs:hugs

I think the 'young men's' crows sound like Kazoos - I love them :)

They are adorable, aren't they! (Until they become hormonal idiots, that is....but most do get beyond that stage - especially if they have an older roo or some senior hens that give them a smack down and put them in their place!)

Yep your porcelain is a boy - darn it! But he’s a beauty.

No more chicks hatching for me. Hard to get rid of the Roos. I really need to do something with Rosario. 😞

And then there are Bert and Shorley.

And I haven’t even done any thoughts on Clyde and Mr LC. Too many boys.
