Behind again…. Work work work but today it was finishing up the hay and straw; the hay loft is full for another year.

And BIL and I scored some awesome fencing someone had thrown out. A huge roll of 5’ chain link and 4 rolls of PVC construction fencing. We will start to enclose the yard in front of the barn when the chickens ‘free range’ so they can’t get out on the neighbours place and help keep predators away.

Ok everyone have a lovely evening, I am going to do chores and head to sleep I am pooped!

I have a prize too. Little CeeCee didn’t get enough of me last night, so she back again. She jumped up on my shoulder and we headed inside.

I was doing the math wrong in my head and was off by a factor of 10.
Yes, no risk from kitchen scraps even if they have onion and garlic.
I found the same thing about chocolate after a cat ate a chocolate chip and I got in a panic. She would have had to eat most of a bar to be in any danger!

Edit: hold on. Was my math wrong? My brain is imploding. Isn’t it 0.025 of a pound not 0.25?

I give my chickens everything, they eat it good, if not I know not to give it to them again.

They looove chocolate- so do I - guess who wins that argument! I was told by my vet that there is very little ‘real’ chocolate in the candy we buy so my dog eating my Oh Henry was fine.

Hey! Maybe fine with her but not me! I was having a snack attack when he ate my chocolate bar!

Ok what weird rabbit hole have I gone down tonight! Who started this?!

Now I am hungry….

We have grapes!!!

Very nasty tasting concord grapes...so I'm going to make grape jelly!

The vines are all over. Dad says tomorrow we will do something to cultivate it and keep it safer for the dogs. Had a cousin that almost lost her dog to grape toxicity, it was a hefty vet bill.

Seriously a TON of grapes out there!

Yes this one has a bigger, pinker comb than the other two, it's also larger and a darker orange. I'll keep an eye on it.

Getting wormies tossed in by kiddo...but I caught her only tossing in BSF and dropping the mealworms outside the pen! Guess she didn't feel like giving them the mealies...

Bab is 90% healed up now. She has a weird bump on her neck and a bit of a scar already but she looks so much better.
Didn't sell anything at the market today, we were also the only ones there. I hope Dad doesn't give up on doing them, his coasters are really cool and I know if we got actual customers he'd sell them.

Got a deal on peaches at the store and canned some

Also got a cool new teapot which is also in the picture

Also made jam

I also went crab apple picking, made applesauce, pies, and canned some pie filling. I plan to make jam soon.

Ooops, yup.

It would need to be somewhere between 5% & 7.5% of their daily intake to be toxic (based on the supposed average intake of a standard hen to be between 1/3 & 1/2 lb of feed). That is quite a bit, still, even if not the volume I incorrectly calculated!

So sorry no one showed up. It’s always disappointing when people don’t show up to buy your hard work. I actually discourage my friends from church. But the sales go on twice a year.
