With the taxes they keep adding to our already inflated tax structure, I wouldn’t be surprised if they start taxing us for sawing wood!

I believe it is called Silver Partridge.

There are so many Silkie colors now & different shades within a color it's getting to be more difficult to pinpoint. The ABA standard doesn't recognize a host of colors & are strict to disqualify many .

I find the lack of trick or treating houses around us greatly depressing. Everyone used to give out treats. Now there are only 3-4 houses in our street that do.

Gosh is that pink legs too? Hmm a Leghorn like tail, sleek body type, no wattles or comb (yet?) so not an Azur, hard to say what she is.

What about these Whiting True Blue birds? This hen has slate legs though…

Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day to my fellow (USA) Americans. Gotta love 3-day weekends.

Everyone was alive and well this morning in the new digs. They'd shuffled thru the nest boxes a bit...I did the golf ball thing and they were on the floor. I freaked them out a bit with the broom, but they calmed right down when the food came out. I really don't want mice...so I hope to be able to sweep up most of the spills...and spill they will. I really need proper feeders. But it's only for a couple days.

Good morning Pretty Hen and Mr Bob.

My Hooman tells me that Pretty Hen is very likely my Aunt and that I look like you, I was wondering if it was ok for me to call you Auntie Hattie? My Hooman calls me Laverne, she laughs and tells me I am a Lavender Laverne. She also calls my brother Shirley-your-Shorty, she thinks she’s clever and funny.

Anyways my Hooman tells me to always respect my elders even when they peck me in the head - Marty I think is just plain mean she pecks me in the head all the time.

If you would be so kind as to let me call you Auntie Hattie that would be wonderful.

A couple of my overlords lay beautiful pink eggs - they tell me it is a sign of Royalty.

It is indeed. Only truly regal chickens can lay pink eggs.
