A Long Visit

Hattie and I are having a long visit this morning after her medicine. She's very quiet today. It's nice when friends can spend time together without having to chat constantly.

No, they aren't chickens ~ they're a cross between a bunny & a chicken (or so it's been rumored) !!! Sweetest little fluffies we ever owned .

Thoroughly cooked potatoes are good ~ it's all the butter, salt, sugar, & sour/sweet creams that go w/ potatoes that doctors object to.

Whoa wait! What?! But that’s the best part! And gravy!

If my chickens like it then it has to be good for you! They love mashed potatoes and gravy

Looks great - My BIL has cleared a lot of the brush, burned it and also cleared the weeds from the chicken run, I had to stop him taking everhthing down to the ground hahaha I told him Nooo! leave some stuff for the chickens to hide under haha!

The sunflower seeds have arrived but I'm working. Been busy for a couple weeks. I'll get em in the ground though.

If land rigs would stay busy I prefer to not go overseas. Making big money today working on Labor day, how ironic, lol

Potatoes are high in potassium - they have more then a banana.

Variety is the spice of life as they say Eat a variety of foods to get those valuable nutrients.

I need to see some tax payments for all this decorating talk.

I find the lack of trick or treating houses around us greatly depressing. Everyone used to give out treats. Now there are only 3-4 houses in our street that do.

That’s so sad! Maybe no youngsters around?

We used to do a haunted house theme and the 3 or 4 houses with kids would drop in, we’d catch up on chit chat with the parents. Now we have no youngsters here, well not true - my neighbour across the road had her granddaughter who is 4 - maybe I will decorate for her this year Her brother is only 6 months old but we can start them early appreciating the decorations.

Medicine? Why, poor baby?

Hattie is over 6 years old and suffers greatly from arthritis. Every morning she gets meloxicam for the pain and then all the mealworms she wants. I don't care about nutrition, she is over 6 and not overweight. She deserves all the treats she wants.

As it gets colder she will need a dose at night as well. She is stationary without the meloxicam. She moves around some when on it.
