No, they aren't chickens ~ they're a cross between a bunny & a chicken (or so it's been rumored) !!! Sweetest little fluffies we ever owned .

Working in a rig yard in Tulsa, my original scope was a 2 day job but I'm playing it by ear now. I don't mind. The guys here a great and I'm staying 10 minutes away in a nice hotel with a bar. They are not in a rush so that matches my speed perfectly, lol.

Aster is getting grey (lavender?) dashes all over her. Look close in these photos. Up around her neck. These are from a few days ago. She even has a tail feather with some grey now.

I believe it is called Silver Partridge.

Not enough gray/silver to be a true silver partridge but might be classified as a dark partridge. The breeder we got two Silkies from said one was a dark partridge & one was a silver partridge.

Dark Partridge -- starts w/very black feathers

Silver Partridge - silver chick starts w/ very gray feathers

We once considered attending poultry shows just to speak w/ some Silkie breeders to get more clarifications but the shows were further away than we cared to travel. Now I just rely on the NPIP breeder we purchase from for info since they like to study genetics.
