I weighed 4 of the idiots today and the 2 Brahmas and the Orpington were all 5.2 pounds which I find pretty cool. The other one, Prudy my Jersey Giant is a whopping 7 pounds at 22 weeks! And my other Jersey Giant looks just as big, maybe even a bit bigger. I think my dreams of having a 10 pound chicken may come to fruition! Miss Prudy in all her fluffy butt glory

She’s gorgeous ♥️😊

Have Sophia here on her own - she had some left over curry and rice and mashed potatoes. Yummy!

Tippy is well again, she is back to flying over the fences and eating.

Marty though is not feeling very chipper. She is full of pin feathers and not eating. Moulting is hard with her. So 1/4 aspirin and less than a quarter cc of Tylenol to make her bit more comfy, then try her again with some rice and potatoes.

But I sure am happy Sophia has rallied. She had me worried.

Molting is the only time I allow hens to sleep in the nest boxes. Those porcupine quills look very uncomfortable.
After an hr Marty got a bit more perky, came out and even ate a bit of feed.

I left some curry for tomorrow morning for Sophia. The feedroom smells like curry hahahaha 😊

Not sure whether from Blanche or PITA, but these a feather cloud where they were hanging out today. (Pear left the coop this morning in a cloud of falling feathers too). The dark shaft isn't in all the splash feathers, but isn't all that uncommon either. Something to look forward to.

How odd! I must check out Curly and Buttercup, and the Azurs see if I can find one of those amazing feathers!

Is that brown on the feather along the shaft?
