I don't know what kind of surgery he had - but if it was any kind of abdominal surgery - do try to temper his activity for a bit. You don't want him to end up with a hernia because he didn't wait for the muscles to knit! (Yes, this coming from someone who is herself a terrible patient - but recently had abdominal surgery and was given a stern talking to about the risks - because hubby ratted me out to the Dr.!):hugs:hugs:hugs

She is gorgeous! :love(though, I must say, I have yet to meet a chick I didn't think was cute/adorable/entertaining/all of the above!)
Oh yes, kiddo keeps asking him to pick her up, wants to cuddle on his lap, everything. So he feels awful but he needs to heal properly first!
Now my mother-in-law says she needs a hen at my house. Chicken math has hit the whole dang family!

Good morning and happy Caturday everyone. We still have the 4 kittens who are holy terrors. I was given a heart attack for my birthday from my favorite boy Panda.

Now, having horses and chickens over the years there have been a few rats killed outside. CeeCee is lethal with them if she gets a chance. I could say though that we had never had one inside. Well that has changed. I get up this morning and head to the coffee pot. The kittens are having a ball making a ruckus in the laundry room, nothing new. CeeCee is still snoring at the foot of my bed, where she has been all night with the door shut. Here comes Panda strolling into the kitchen meowing and very proudly dragging a RAT!!!! It was still twitching and I screamed. Panda was tackled by his siblings fighting over who got the "toy". After my heart attack I grabbed a paper towel and fought the devils to get it away from them. Lots of growling, hissing and swiping at me but I won. I took it outside still slightly alive and finished it off and tossed it into the creek. Now my chickens are having a field day attacking it. I am proud of the kittens, they have never stepped foot outside, yet they proved themselves this morning. I already told mom, all 4 need to stay.

Fowl pox is spreading among my birds. The Orpington roo has it bad. Aero has some on her comb.
Dakota has a few bumps on her as well.
It’s mosquito bite season and there’s nothing I can do about it. I will try to get pictures of my roo.
Poor babies. 😥

Sorry to hear this, not much you can do but let it run it’s course I am told.
Those d*mn mosquitos carry the fowl pox. Our vet prescribed ophthalmic triple antibiotic ointment (safe around eyes) to apply to face/wattles/comb spots. It was $25 PER TINY TUBE BUT WORKS. You don't want the dry pox to become wet pox (inside mouth or trachea). Catch the spots w/ treatment early before it spreads on the chicken. We isolate infected chicken from flock till healed.

@featherhead007

I've just the alo vera lemongrass essential oil and diatomaceous earth to help dry up the sores has be used to help them through. But I don't know for sure.

I know that diatomaceous earth can draw out impurities. I've used it my self
DE might not be safe around eyes.
